Four more images of my Woman in Black that I couldn’t lay my hands on the other day. Firstly, here she is in Florence in the early ’80s, striding purposefully out across the Ponte Vecchia late one summer afternoon:
…and here she is in Greece in the late ’80, perched atop her donkey:
Now she’s popped up in Maramures, Romania in 2007:

In the fields, Maramures, Romania
I just caught her a week later in the distance in Bucovina:

Early morning in Bucovina
I did want to ask her what she was doing in the middle of nowhere, so it seemed.
I do also recall her in a small village on Crete in the ’80s, but this image may have been lost for all time, however I may send out the search party one day….
It’s been years since I’ve seen a donkey, nice capture. Great trop, Woman in Black.
Well, I saw this donkey around three decades ago, and not seen more than one or two since!
She put a bit of weight on in Romania. Must be the dumplings! 🙂 🙂 I love the Florence one but the donkey lady is rather fetching too.
She was well rounded in Romania!
You have certainly travelled a lot Sue. How odd that this woman in black stalks you! (Or is it you who is stalking her?)
Perhaps it’s me!
She gets around a fair bit indeed. I have also seen her in Crete, as well as Rhodes, Cape Sounion, and once in Turkey too. When I was holidaying in Kiev, she was waiting to cross a street in front of me. Unlike you, I didn’t have a camera handy.. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Ah, good to know someone else has seen her!
Yeah, I’ve seen here too. She does get around! 🙂
She certainly does!
Lovely captures, but mine are normally old men…..not sure why 🙂
Glad you lIke this!
Nicer than old men 🙂
Hahaha!
She certainly is an international woman of mystery!
That’s a good description, Su!
This lot make me smile because of the way you present her. I’ve seen her too, in old photos walking round the ruins of Warsaw. This is both a biography of Woman and an autobiography. Do I sense a new ongoing series with current captures?
Hmm, interesting the way you verbalise things….yes, this is perhaps a biography of woman in a way, and an aspect of autobiography, too. But there will not be current captures other than the Guildford one, as I just haven’t seen any candidates!
Always go with basic black! 🙂
I frequently do, Emilio!
I’ve missed so much this summer because of puppy overload!
Oh, of course! But what a lovely overload!
