Pick a Word in August – Y2

Nubilous, nebulous, whatever…. in the Languedoc, I was hunting for a monastery on a hill. In the fog, I never found what I was looking for – or did I?

In the swirling mist and clouds, could I be sure that I was just looking at a load of rocky pinnacles? Decide what you will:

  1. Ha! I had to look the words up as I wanted to know the difference! I reckon nubilous is a bit more vague – cloudy, rather than referring to specific clouds! But it can easily be confused with nubile!

  2. Love both your verbals, especially the play with nebulous/nubilous, and the image.

  3. I’d swear there was at least one identifiable gothic window…

  4. Fabulous! And I am sure there is a monastery out there in the mist 🙂

  6. They definitely look like rocky pinnacles or erosion pyramids. I would like to have coordinates to this location, Sue, please? Thank you for a fine example of nubilous 😀

  7. Ah-ha – a ‘mystery and imagination’ photo. Nothing like a good dose of mist for ‘atmosphere’.

  8. With my eyes, I am happy to be able to make out the mist. I get the idea though.
    Best wishes, Pete.
