An old orangery

There was a wonderful, small orangery at Hovdala Slott, one of the castles I saw when in Sweden…. I used one image for Wordless Wednesday, but here are three more:

Looking in….

….looking out

Loved the shape of those doors, and the tall windows let in plenty of light.

  1. Nice doors indeed, Sue. Any oranges in there perchance?
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. What a fab terracotta pink. Another magical building.

  3. Yes, it is, Sue. I wouldn’t mind adopting it. 🙂 🙂

  4. I really love this collection – views through doors and then the tree against the wall. From my cabin near caves tonight, I see loping macropods against monochrome grass – I doubly enjoy the warmth of your images.

  5. I am sure you already know that I crave for an orangery (along with the walled garden). This is a very pretty one with the terracotta walls and Gothic doors. Your last photo is very delicate and painterly – a lovely effect.
