There was a wonderful, small orangery at Hovdala Slott, one of the castles I saw when in Sweden…. I used one image for Wordless Wednesday, but here are three more:

Looking in….

….looking out
Loved the shape of those doors, and the tall windows let in plenty of light.
Nice doors indeed, Sue. Any oranges in there perchance?
Best wishes, Pete.
No longer!
I have yet to see an orangery containing oranges…
I have, somewhere, but blowed if I can remember where…..
What a fab terracotta pink. Another magical building.
Isn’t it just lovely!
Yes, it is, Sue. I wouldn’t mind adopting it. 🙂 🙂
Pleased you like it, Jo….I was sure you would!
Me too! Can we share it?
We should!
I’ll supply the orange trees 😉
Sounds good! 😀
Sounds good! 😉
Seems like a reasonable offer 🙂 🙂
😀
😀
I would have one!
Wouldn’t it be great!
Wanderful colours
Thanks!
I really love this collection – views through doors and then the tree against the wall. From my cabin near caves tonight, I see loping macropods against monochrome grass – I doubly enjoy the warmth of your images.
Glad to have brought you some colour! A cabin near caves, Meg? That sounds interesting. A few years ago, I stayed in a converted cave dwelling in Matera in Southern Italy……
… and I in an underground room in an opal mine! Probably won’t view the caves. I was the only one there yesterday and a 3.30 tour was cancelled. I’m off to botanical gardens and then another 300 kilometres. Did see fossils yesterday, and an amazing gate.
An underground room in an opal mine…..Aaargh, no windows!! Enjoy the botanical gardens, and have a lovely weekend. Oh, and will we get to see the gate?
Try and stop me.
That’s the spirit!
Your cave had windows???
Well, there was a large window and door at the entrance…. Which gave a reassuring sense of being in the world, not buried under it…..
I am sure you already know that I crave for an orangery (along with the walled garden). This is a very pretty one with the terracotta walls and Gothic doors. Your last photo is very delicate and painterly – a lovely effect.
I loved that place! Glad you like the last image, Jude 😊
It is very beautiful Sue.
Thank you!
