  1. You really capture people just going about their business, do they do that more in Cuba than here?? I’ll have to photograph a Moruya street and see.

  2. I always wonder why they don’t just spend a few quid getting these lovely old buildings rubbed down and repainted. Imagine how wonderful Havana would look?
It must be an indication of just how poor Cuba really is, I suppose.
    Best wishes, Pete.

A few quid, Pete? Most of these buildings are in a perilous state, and would need more than a lick of paint, more like a serious repair job or rebuild. In the tourist area they are beginning to rebuild the carcasses of buildings, just leaving the old facade to retain the colonial look…. But away from the tourist part, no money means no maintenance

  3. I have one word for this wordless post: theatre. In both senses of the word.

  4. Fantastic!
In fact, for a minute I thought this was one of mine 😉
I think we would have loved exploring Havana together!

  5. Classic Havana. Very well framed, Sue.

Thank you, Andy – I used a wide angle lens, and the original was a bit distorted – looks like I’ve done a good job repairing it in Photoshop, then!!

  6. Wonderful place and photo, Sue, regards Mitza

  7. Laundry hanging out from the balcony – this looks so familiar to us Italians 😉 I love that picture, Sue. Laundry marking two different worlds: the upper, grey, abandoned; the lower full of colors, people and life. Great shot, really 🙂

  8. I get Pete, and hope there is enough to stop a complete loss of these amazing buildings.
