Another attempt at Film Noir… but that bright light is bugging me. This wasn’t in Cuba, by the way! Bletchley Park, Hut 6 I think.

  1. Personally I’m not much bothered by that bright light, Sue – it leads through to the smaller lights and so to the figure, and also the composition is strong enough for it not to be too distracting. But it is easy to clone out (I’ve just tried) and the pool of light around the original light bulb/shade looks very natural without the light bulb/shade. Or what about a tighter crop to exclude the bright light? That works very well too. I really like the image – it’s a strong composition.

  2. Might cropping it work? Though at first look I thought it added a bit of ‘sinister’ since it made me think of bright light interrogation.

  3. I think the foreground light actually works really well. It lends a lot of atmosphere to the darkness beyond.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  4. The bright lights work for me too, Sue. Great atmospheric shot

  5. Scary! Defiantly noire.

  6. The lights works for me Sue – hints of The Shining 😉 Excellent.

  7. Love the way you caught the figure so far away, just about to disappear.

  8. I like the light, but I do see what yo mean. When I put my thumb over the closest one it looks better.
