I make no apology for showing the first image again – when I posted it yesterday, I forgot that it was to be part of my continuing ‘One’ series! I have a number from my recent trip, so here are the first two, both from Havana.

Hanging out the washing
This must have been a splendid building at one time:

At the window of the Palacio
Ah. Grandeur in decay. V. evocative. I’d love to go to Havana.
Certainly is faded splendour…..in vast quantities
Those windows were good for your ‘One’ series, Sue!
Best wishes, Pete.
They came up trumps!
Shabby splendor. Lovely shots and the one person against the imposing building makes for a great contrast.

Thank you, Janet!
Great shots , Sue…!
Thank you, Anna – glad you like these
Wonderful shots! Would love to visit there one day
Thank you, Susan! Don’t leave it too long, as the place will change….
wonderful photos, Sue. I guess in Havanna there is a lot of decaying beauty to be photographed. Regards Mitza
There is much decaying beauty, Mitza, but I do feel for the people who have to live in those buildings…..
you are right, but at least I think it’s much warmer there than here and they have a very happy character.
😊
Both great buildings Sue, I love the shutters. And both interesting ‘one’ images.
Thanks, Jude – glad you like these 😀
I’m more than happy to look at any of your photos twice. A splendid building indeed, and your “one” splendidly placed
(You might want to reconsider your use of the phrase “came up trumps”!!!)
Thanks, Meg, and ooops, need to get rid of that phrase…..
Can’t find the post that the pesky phrase was in…..
Great photos, Sue. Thaks for sharing.
Thanks, Isabel!
I was expect the house to have more color .. but they are very pale … beautiful pale.
Much of downtown Havana is faded splendour, very faded….
Yes, I saw that .. from you images. So glad that you made it to Havana. Have a couple of friends that been there .. and they have all good things to say about Cuba.
Well, I would love to return to Cuba for longer..
Did you ever wonder what these houses look like inside? I noticed myself trying to sneak glimpses in whenever I could.
I do wonder, but I wouldn’t be encroaching on someone’s private space
