Feeling nostalgic today, here are a couple of images from the Teatro Tomas Terry in Cienfuegos, Cuba, over a decade ago. I had a cheap, very basic little digital camera with me at the time, and it was really dark inside this place…a very old fashioned theatre, boasting lovely wrought iron seats with wonderful hardwood arm rests. Alas we only had a tour, didn’t see a performance…
The ceiling was rather marvellous as I recall, But I didn’t get a photo of that!
Gloomy, rather ‘noisy’ view of the horseshoe shaped ampitheatre:
…and some of those seats:

What a monument in such a creative country. Wish I’d seen this when we were there. Interesting photos.
Well, I wish I had had a better camera with me!!
Haha, at least you did have a camera 🙂
True….
Nothing to do with the Terry-Thomas of gap-teeth fame?! (Not a serious suggestion, but it would be an outrageous notion!)
No, no! But that thought went through my mind when we visited! 😀
Great to see Sue – I nearly put one up for you today, but wasn’t ready – I’ll post soon so you can compare with what you remember. Even with decent camera it was hard to get good shots inside.
Brilliant, look forward to your post , Debs! And in the meantime, I have found a single image of Cienfuegos harbour….nothing to get excited about, but I’ll probably post it
A place trapped in its own time indeed. Fascinating, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
Wish I’d had a better camera instead of that crummy 4.9 megapixel compact…..my MFT creates 14Megapixel images, my Nikon 19
Fascinating views!
Thank you, Anna!
At least you got to see it 🙂
Well, yes!
Gloomy? perhaps a little but that’s part of it’s charm.
Yes, I think it is, Gilly!
Stunning, Sue. So glad you have these to share.
Thanks, Chris, glad you like them!
Love them, Sue. The patina is there on screen. Thank you for sharing.
😀
Would work for ambience too 🙂
Maybe!
Those wonderful seats! There are times when a less-good camera captures a different feeling and makes good images, I think it did with these.
Thanks, Anna! Glad you like, and I think you have a point about the camera….perhaps not all bad after all!
I love the second shot especially. I think that Anna has made a valid point.
Thanks, Paula!

Look at the leg room! Auditoriums of today don’t offer half this size for longer people. Nice pictures.
Yes, ton of legroom! Glad you like this
Yes, very much.
Thanks very much!
