A new subject for dilapidation!
Oh, this is an old one revisited, as a result of Robin’s (Northumbrian Light) comment on yesterday’s post for Paula’s Thursday Special
Love the old retro racetrack. If you will forgive the pun, it is a place with a lot of photographic mileage in it.
Best wishes, Pete.
Indeed!!
Thanks Sue, great to see have you seen this wonderful footage from Reims-Gueux in 1961:
Oh,thanks for the clip, I hadn’t seen it!
I’m surprised no ones stolen the signs!
😀
I like the top image better than the one you posted the other day – nice to see the faded logos and lettering.
Well, the one I posted the other day was taken looking out of the pits in the top image of today’s post
Sad to see it deserted, but it reeks of history. There are a lot of ghost towns here in Nevada and they have such allure.
I think I need to get to Nevada! Do you have any photographs of such places?
One of my dreams is to take a road trip and do just that. Try googling Nevada ghost towns.
I think we need to do that road trip, you could be my guide!!😉
Love it!
😀
Fabulous image, Sue. Glad it’s still standing at least. 🙂
Thanks, Sylvia!
Cool capture Sue – so sad-looking isn’t it?
Thanks, Tina…more recently, it has been given a lick of brilliant white paint, and all the atmosphere has gone…….
You have found a really interesting place for photographing. The photo through the broken window is captivating.
Oh, I was in my element there, Otto….in 1997, still using film, so I only have a few images
Another candidate for TLC, Sue. I could follow you around the world with an odd job man 🙂 🙂
Well, this one has been spruced up, Jo, and lost a lot in the process, in my view…..
Great location, great shots
Many thanks, Robert!
I imagine how full of life was this place in its days. Great photographs.
One of the best places I have found and seen for myself….
There is always a story in the past… always
Absolutely…that’s the appeal
I agree with Otto, and I like your new dilapidation subject. How have you been, Sue?
Hi Paula! The ‘new’ dilapidation subject was taken in the late 1990s! I’m OK, thanks, but haven’t been blogging because too much ‘stuff’ to do….. Hope you are well
I am well, Sue. I hope to see you soon 🙂
Yes, hope so!
