Well, we went to Cuba in my last post, and now it’s off to Romania. Landscapes of Maramures, as seen in 2007:
Apologies for the monochrome conversions, a bit sludgy, I should have tried harder.

I never imagined Romania looking like this, can’t think why. Thanks for showing me, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
The landscapes in Transylvania, Maramures and Bucovina were stunning, Pete
Love the black and white. It evokes a feeling of nostalgia in me.
Well, it evokes huge feelings of nostalgia in me!!
Sludgy?? Well like them and that’s not as I would have imagined Romania either.
Thank you, Gilly! I just feel the tones aren’t as crisp as they could be….
Oh, and I meant to say, the landscapes are vast and beautiful, and great to walk in
Never been to Romania. Thank you for converting these beautiful, vast views. It’s a treat, Sue.
Thanks, Paula! I do try to come up with something interesting 😊

Such beautiful captures Sue!
Thanks, Janaline!
Sludgy? No not at all. Rather mysterious in fact. If you gaze at them for any length of time – the lay of the land combined with the monochrome seems to have the landscape moving – ever so slightly.
Glad you like them, Tish….as to gazing for them for any length, I’ll give that a miss with my fatigued eyes!
You commissioned those clouds in the second one! These shots really do show the contours of the land in a way I don’t think colour would.
Monochrome is great for making the viewer notice shapes and contours, I agree!
