This week, Paula has asked us to choose our subject…as food and wine are a couple of things that I love, and I enjoy taking the occasional still life, here is my offering (and you may also observe that my ironing skills are lacking):
I am very partial to a well matured cheese – in this case Tomme de Savoie and Stinking Bishop, (which is à point at this time of year). Hadn’t been able to get the latter for a year or two now, so it was nice to re-aquaint myself with it’s pongy charms!
More Black&White Sunday here.
Mmmmmmmm….
Prosit!
Your health, indeed!
I hate ironing, and do not care for ironed cloths, but I love matured cheese. I am not familiar with these two types. Love your choice for the theme 🙂 Prost, Sue! Salud!
Na zdrowia! Zum Wohl! Sláinte!
I don’t speak Russian 😀
Polish, German, Irish…..
Ah, that was Polish?
Well, that was what I was taught by a Polish colleague years ago…..
You are right. Do you speak Irish?
I have a number of Irish friends who teach me a few words!
It is ‘Cheers’, in three languages.

Two of my favorite things as well, Sue. Ironing is not one of them.
janet
Sensible girl, Janet!
Lovely composition – over all and in its parts – I love wine and cheese too, and my tablecloths are inevitably crumpled from being scrunched in the kitchen drawer. Stinking Bishop is a favourite too, and at the mo the very disgraceful Delice de Bourgoyne (spelling might be amiss here)
Looks like we are on the same path, Tish! Except that I recall not being especially impressed with Delice de Bourgogne when I’ve had it…give me Époisses or Langres instead. Another favourite is Vacherin….
Oh, so very tempting! Cheers, Sue
I hate ironing too but I do like your cloth
Salut, Debs!
Beautiful work :-)) I like the two as well. Have a great evening.
Thank you, Knut Arne! Glad you like this photo
Oh, and have a good evening yourself 😀
Love a nice still life, love wine (red for preference), and love (most but not blue) cheese. All three in one shot, you got me!
Best wishes, Pete.
I like coming up with the goods!
oOo…yummy
😀😀 it was!
Wrinkles are aesthetically pleasing, a roughened up texture. And ironing is such a waste of time. Don’t iron and there’s more time for cheese and wine! And the construction of elegant still lifes.
Oh, fantastic response! I do iron, but as little as possible, and, as I said, ineptly!!
My brother’s mother-in-law ironed – wait for it – socks and towels!
Oh, I know of folks that iron underwear…life’s too short!!
A fine choice – my favourite is Pecorino Stagionato but I have never seen it locally,
I love hard cheeses with a bit of character, as well as the smelly ones! Supermarket plastic cheeses are an insult to cheese!
If I had to choose then I would leave the cheese!
😀😀🙄
You created a lovely mood with your still life Sue , what’s a crumple between friends 🙂 I’d have to miss the cheese but I’d join you in a glass or two !
Glad you like it, and let’s clink glasses!
Oh yes let’s clink .. late to the party but I’ve a glass with my name on here somewhere Sue 🙂 Batten down the hatches tonight I gather with the forecast … keep safe !
You stay safe, too!
Can’t say I’m fussed about the wine, but the cheese looks good!
Cheese it is for you then, Gilly!
I’m with you there Sue! Very nice still life! 🙂
Cheers, Adrian!
I can live with crumples. My problem is more often red wine stains 🙂 🙂 And they’re so unphotogenic! Pass the cheese, Sue! None of the wormy ones for me, though.
What’s a wormy cheese, Jo?? And I’m with you on the red wine stains!! But I do find a pre-treatment with Vanish before the wash is pretty effective…..
Those smelly blue vein ones 😦 Me and Vanish are bosom buddies, Sue 🙂
Oh, well, I’m not particularly keen on the wormy ones myself, then!
Ironed or not I will be right over to share that picnic with you. 🙂
Is my web site still causing you problems?
Excellent, do pop over, I’ve saved you some…. As to your website, I’m afraid life has taken over recently and I haven’t checked…hopefully will in the next few days
Oh no rush at all! If I can be helpful let me know.
Well, blowed if I know how, but it’s worked today….
Oh Yay!! So happy to hear that.
So am I! 🎉🎉
Oh we do feast on cheese and wine this time of the year as well… So many great cheeses in the world…
True!
Never mind the ironing – enjoy the image. I’m just glad we haven’t reached the stage in technology when images come with smells attached. Stinking Bishop – I wonder how a bishop got involved in the naming of that cheese?
😳
I don’t like cheese, but I like the feeling in this photo.
Peaceful, eh?
I think it was the wine….
😀
Never tried that type of cheese, but it does look a lot like camembert, which I love. I do prefer red wine over white, though. So I’ll bring my own bottle! 🙂
😀😀
