Missed opportunity?

A week or two back, I posted an image (for the Mirror challenge) of the castle at Puckler Park, Bad Muskau, from a visit a decade and a half ago. I had seen an image of this seemingly abandoned place, and as we we were going to be in eastern Germany I mad sure we did a trip to include it.

It looked interesting enough, and there was a track that led tantalisingly near, but alas, there were workmen about the place, and I could see no way of getting in, so had to content myself with these shots from across the lake.

Getting closer:

I’m sure at that time, it would have been great to wander around the interior! Ah well….

  1. One of your classic ‘decay’ shots, Sue!
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. It looks like a fascinating place. I hope you can get closer.

  3. Looks like a great place to film a horror movie, Sue. 🙂 That reminds me to get my similar shots from France worked up to post.

  4. Great shots, Sue. It really looks like your kind of place to photograph. 🙂

  5. Wonderfully shabby, Sue 🙂

  6. foreboding place!! I’m sure it must have a dungeon!

  7. If it is a hotel I suppose that’s better than letting it fall down, be a great place to stay.

  8. Well, you did what was possible…and that was great!

  9. It certainly would, provided that it was not crawling with visitors. It looks tempting from this angle. You gave it an ancient look.
