For the Weekly Photo Challenge, I am showing an image of the Castle at Puckler Park, Bad Muskau, reflected in the lake. This photo was taken a decade and a half ago when the castle was in a run down state. We visited on a very gloomy day, which only adds to the forlorn look. As I understand, it has been much restored now.
More Mirror images here.
Another good one from the archives, Sue. I like the run-down look, and the gloom suits it accordingly.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete! I have a few more to show from this place, coming soon’
It’s a great shot though Sue. That pretty smooth reflection it lifts the feel of the image and my first thought is charm more than decay
Well, thank you – charm sounds good to me! More to come from this place soon!
Thank you for posting this image: I love the links established – Now I’ve seen one of Łazienki’s companions in the Garden of Lights festival.
Glad you like it, Meg! A few more to come from this place soon (when I get a moment), which you will enjoy as they show some decay…😳
Castles and decay? As it should be!
Quite! But no longer, it seems, for this one…..
I am a sucker for a good reflection picture! Nice one.
Thanks, Andrew! Glad you like it
I’m rather fond of forlorn looking places!! beautiful image Sue!
Ah, I thought this would appeal to you, Hannah! I have more to come…
yippee!!
Hurrah!
Very nice shot, Sue. We have been there and yes, it has been very much restored. 🙂
Ah, so I wouldn’t like it now!!
Nice capture.
Thank you, Rupali!
Gorgeous shot, Sue. 🙂
Thanks, Sylvia…the best I could do on a dull day
This is a lovely, melancholy shot.
Yes, a tad melancholy, I agree….
From this distance, it still looks great, Sue.
janet
Well, I have one or two more dilapidated views to show
Very nice, is this a scan of a photo?
It’s a scan of a transparency
…that I took ages ago
Yes, I saw that it was an older photo, and I thought I remembered you talking about scanning, so I thought that was the case.
Indeedy!
You may think I am crazy, but I prefer the forlorn look on a castle than a fully restored one. I mean it is a castle that belongs to another period. Forlorn gives it more credibility. In any case, I like the PoV you took and the reflection.
I don’t think you are crazy at all, those are mŷ sentiments too!

Beautiful Sue!
Thanks!
Your archives are something else Sue! Oh and yes it would be lovely to see you when you’re down 🙂
My archives need some serious looking after…I seem to be losing stuff 😦
It looks like taken out of a fairy tale. Or a different time. Beautifully captured, Sue.
Well, it was built in a different time, and slowly decaying…but now it has been renovated, so I don’t think I would want to see it!
That is a beautiful reflection Sue – great picture!
Thanks, Meg!
So sad to see all these beautiful castles decay.
Well, nothing lasts forever!
Great shot, Sue. Love the reflection and I bet it was an interesting visit.
Thanks, Jane, and yes, it was interesting wandering around the park. Sadly, didn’t get inside the castle!
Nice photograph….
Thanks!
Hi Sue, this looks like a fairy tale castle. Just beautiful, and perfect for the theme.
Thanks, Naomi…..it was rather sad and neglected when I saw it, but I love evocative ruins…. I’m going to post the few other images I took that day sometime soon, perhaps today if I get my act together
I look forward to seeing them!
