Delighting in Our World
Another imaginative framing. I need to learn from your subdued palette. I always want to brighten everything, which means there’s never any atmosphere. Yours are always atmosphere central!
Goodness, what fulsome praise…your comments are always in colour, Meg, which is great! This image was discovered today during some tidying – I had to photocopy it from an old oprint as I have no idea where the negative has gone…. It was hastily taken on a walk with my parents years and years ago, hardly the apogee of composition!!
Aha, but your eye!
Well, OK, I must believe it!
I can feel the age on this one, Sue. Such muted tones, almost sepia.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete…it’s partly thanks to Nik Software for the muted tones!
My Kind of place, a beauty
Thank you, Ritva! Glad you like it
Lovely image, Sue. The sun shining in makes it look really magical. 🙂
Thank you, Sylvia!
Yes, listen to Meg!
😀😀
This makes me want to write flash fiction! Such a great setting for something dark!
But the place itself wasn’t threatening!
No. Just my fiction-writer’s imagination. The place is quite lovely.
But I think you’re right….Flash Fiction could surely use this as a prompt!
What was this?
A slate quarry building. Not sure, but possibly the slate dressing mill
Love this!
Thanks, Anna!
Must have been exciting exploring this place. It looks desolate. I quite like the way you displayed it.
this was many years ago, and I didn’t get to explore the place because my father was keen for us to get on with the walk. I could have happily spent an hour or three here.
I thought the was more recent. Still, sometimes it is not easy to decide how much time to afford to a certain place when attractions are tempting on every (almost) corner.
That wasn’t the case here, it was just miles to cover rather than fun
Ugh. For me walking is a means not necessarily an action to be enjoyed.
Haha! I used to, but sadly. I can’t walk far now….
😦
Well, I just have to find other ways of getting the experiences I want!
Google map travel works for me.
No, no, no! I want to be there, touch things, take my own photographs! Granted there are plenty of places I will never see, but plenty I still intend to…..
Good 🙂
Cool shot Sue – funny you’d long lost it but with today’s technology that needn’t matter!
Well, it was 30 years ago….and the negative might still be somewhere!
