This week, Ailsa has challenged us to come up with ‘Pairs’. I have had a long-running, if sporadic, theme running entitled ‘One’…but every now and again I wonder what to do with the pairs…well, here’s the answer!

Bicycles

Street laughter

Two

Cheers!
More ‘pairs’ over at Ailsa’s here.
Good to see that you found a use for your pairs, Sue!
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete – did you notice the lady’s bag? Very apposite, I thought, as I grabbed the shot….
I didn’t, but now I can see the relevance!
😀
Lovely PAIRS!
Thanks, Anna!
This is a great compilation. You really are the empress of shadows. Every photo is so different, and yet so Sue.
The empress of shadows could be very ominous!! D’you know, I used to go out of my way to avoid shadows, never realised what fantastic effects one could create…all those wasted years! Sob! But hopefully I’m making up for lost time….aargh, but when I think of the missed opportunities…
Tina Schell over at Travels and Trifles (a fantastic photographer) said something similar yesterday about missed images, never to be recaptured except in your mind’s eye….
Sometimes I think mind’s eye does a better job of storage – report on recent no-photos sculpture exhibition might give the lie to this hypothesis.
We-ell, but the mental storage fades in time…an image can transport you back with more reliability? And others can see what captured your imagination, emotion, whatever…
I particularly like the first pair. The arrangement is so nice.
And those guys in blue. Were they performing for you? 🙂
The first pair was completely as seen….and as to the guys in blue, I was taking an image of the street art, saw them walking into shot, smiled, raised the camera and to my delight they played to camera!!
Nice response from them. It puts a smile on the face.
Definitely!
You have something for every challenge, Sue. Love these. 🙂
Haha, most of the time I do! And sometimes I take an image in response to a prompt, Sylvia 😀
Serendipity! I love Morecambe and Wise there, and the bikes would suit them perfectly. 🙂
Wouldn’t they just, and there’s a couple of glasses of refreshing dry white awaiting them when they’ve had enough of exercise!
Oh, I thought they were for you and me 😦
OK, I’ll save them!! 😉
Sue, I love the image of the two lady shoppers and their shadows. Very effective, MM 🍀
Tha Nia, John – I was pleased with that one!
Yeah, for me it just stands out (and actually reminds of a painting I have in my living room). The geometry, the interest, it is all there and to me the shadows make such a difference…
Goodness, I don’t know what happened when I wrote thanks! Anyway glad you liked this…and I agree, the shadows make it, bring the image alive…
And I thought you were multilingual – looks like it could be Vietnamese to me…😃
😀😀
Perfect pairs and a nice cheers at the end!!
Thanks, Hannah! Glad you like my pairs, and the cheers! 😀
Love the twins! (The bikes – people say, there’s always one who’s a trouble maker or a clown. That second bike elevates that image waaaay past ordinary)
Thanks, Phil! Glad ŷou liked…
I love the ladies, and how fortuitous she is carrying THAT bag! Great shot Sue, lovely shadows and how they are moving in opposite directions 🙂
I know, it was just perfect! Nothing like leaning out of a hotel window to do a paparazzo shot 😀😀
A wonderful set of pairs Sue, love the variety!
Thanks, Patti – I decided variety was key!
fun photos
Thanks, Gavin!
I like the cute, smiley guys! Actually, where can I find them? 😉
😀😀 , you do make me laugh, Gilly! They were great, played to the camera nicely!
I love you pairs as juxtapositions and not the least the variety of the whole series.
Thanks, Otto – I considered variety to be key here!
Love all of these Sue – but especially the Street Laughter. Clearly they saw you and gave you a teriffic smile for your shot!
Haha…I was taking an image of the street art, noticed them walking into shot, smiled, raised the camera and then to my delight they played to camera!
The yellow wall and the black bikes is such an awesome capture, could be on the wall in anyones living room! 🙂
Thanks, Inger, pleased you like this one!
🙂 to your health my dear!
And to yours, Paula!
