A little more Praga

It’s too hot to go outside today, so I have been tidying some books away, and having a look at some more of my images from Warsaw – this will be the last batch from Praga district. It is very apposite that I am doing this today, a very hot day here, as it was when we visited Praga….

First up, my intrepid companions, at a Praga bus stop!

Where do we go now?

Where do we go now?

And here’s a gallery of, mostly, some decay (soon to be renovated)

  1. You have a very good eye for decay, Sue.
(You’re right about the heat too. I had to walk for less than two hours today with Ollie. Too hot for both of us. Not complaining though. Better than rain!)
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. That’s quite a lot of decay. Nice to see someone cares and is sweeping a bit. 🙂

  3. I agree, Too hot for walking today! Though clouding over here now (still hot and sticky). Nice capture of your companions 🙂

Thanks, Jude! The heat is still hideous here….

      • Be nice if we could just have some warm and DRY weather for a change, not this excessive heat and humidity. Grey again here today, but the sun may well be shining further up the coast. Hope it is a bit better for you. How is the flat in the heat?

      • Sue

Today is a little cooler… The flat is fine, actually, because I’m not on the top floor where all the heat collects, and I keep the windows open and the curtains drawn in the heat of the sun…. My house actually got hotter in the bedroom than the one here!

      • That’s good. It is something you can’t possible know when you buy a property. We have a lovely cool area in the morning, but the conservatory is an oven by the afternoon!

      • Sue

Well, I did have some concerns, but it’s turned out OK!

  4. awesome textures!! the peeling, the patterns and designs. just wonderful Sue! I completely – empathise with you on the Hideous Heat. if its cold, one can warm up. with unbearable heat…. you are out of luck. its just Hideous. is the word. cheers, Debi

  5. I suppose decay had to be halted for its beauty or demolished in the end for safety so its good to record it meanwhile.

    • Sue

This part of Warsaw, over the river from the main part, wasn’t flattened by the Nazis, but the communists didn’t develop it, and now it is looking very sad…. But renovation is starting

  6. I don’t know of anyone who does decay quite as well as you do Sue! Beautiful shots all.

  7. Whatever is an Urbexer- pardon my ignorance- Sue? 🙂 I have 2 favourites (and the ladies, of course 🙂 )

    • Sue

Urbex – Urban Exploration, getting into abandoned buildings and exploring them…whilst toggling up in masks to protect from mould and other nasties, wearing solid boots to guard against discarded syringes and broken glass, keeping alert for security people, and, oh, did I say, taking great photos….”take only photographs, leave only footprints”… MS leaves me out of the frame…..
