This week, Paula challenged us with Here and There, and Ailsa has requested we show Stillness, so here are a couple of images to hit both themes in one:
Firstly, in this one, the lady clearly can’t be on the ship and at the horizon at the same time, and this, I think, demonstrates stillness very nicely:
This next image demonstrates Here and There OK, and I would prefer to be in the comfort of my cabin rather than at the docks…or maybe not, I could get some nice images of decrepitude out there! Perhaps not such a good candidate for Stillness:
More Stillness here, and more Here and There here.
Beautiful interpretation,of both challenges!
Thank you!
Very well combined, Sue.
Thanks, Tish 😀
Stillness, being in the moment. Beautiful images, Susan.
Thank you, Marion! Glad you like these
Nice interpretation Sue.
Thanks! 😀
You got them both nicely, Sue.
I have never been on a cruise. I get seasick on a cross-channel ferry.
Best wishes, Pete.
I always said I would NEVER go on a cruise, anathema to the intrepid…..but I am no longer young, fit and healthy!!
I can understand the reasons completely. I just wish that i didn’t get so seasick.
Amazingly, the sea was like a millpond nearly all the way…a few ripples in the North Sea on our return
Really wonderful interpretation of both challenges, Sue. 🙂
Thanks for your kind comment, Sylvia! 😀 hope you are having a relaxing Sunday….I’m not, trying to pack for my next short trip, and finding diversionary tactics….
I know that feeling. 🙂
😳
Very nicely done Sue!
Thanks, Adrian – I do try to challenge myself!
Is she playing the piano, Sue? I absolutely adore that first shot. If only it were me! (no, I don’t play 😦 )
No, just gazing into the distance….
I still absolutely adore it, Sue. 🙂
Glad to hear it, Jo 😀
Here are lovely! I especially like the first image.
Thanks!
Oops I meant to say “these” are lovely!
I kne what you meant!
Nicely done, Sue. And beautiful photos.
Thank you, Ann-Christine…the first is what you see, but in the second I’m not actually looking out of the window, but at a reflection in the mirror….
Aha…
perfect!- and the second is a story!
Thanks, Hannah – glad you like them!
I do!
😀

I so like the contrast in the second… the rough industry in juxtaposition with the stillness of shadows.
Yes, well put, Björn!
Well done in combining the two themes. I agree with Björn Rudberg, the second is my favourite. And it’s definitely a different kind of stillness.
Thanks, Otto! I like to stretch the mental and the photographic muscles!
Good interpretation Sue, being here and looking there
Thanks, Pauline, glad you enjoyed these….apologies for the delay, I have been on a short break….
Hope you had a good time on your break
Hope you enjoyed your break
I did, thank you…Warsaw with Vivi (of my Guilty Pleasures blog), and met Meg too! Now back to reality, and Brexit…
Beautiful photographs, and the thought.
Thank you, Inese!
I can hear the stillness in your images.
Thank’s, Vivi! 😀
