May: Wild Flowers (3)

As I commented last week, I do love a carpet of wild flowers in a landscape so was very pleased to see Jude has Wild Flowers as her theme this month.

This week, we are off to Turkey. Alas, the wild flowers here play second fiddle to the backdrop! In future, I must concentrate on selectively focussing on the flowers in some of my shots….

  1. Love the poppies in the ruins, and the chicken with those nice shutters behind.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Ohoooo! Four photos at once, wildflowers, and ruins, and a chook, and poppies. What a trifecta when it’s four? I love this post.

  3. Inspiring capture… 🙂

  4. Oh, wow. This is so picturesque. I especially like that last one, Sue.

  5. That last shot is my fave. Love the poppies and the background.

  6. Such enchanting photos….

  7. There is really something magical about wildflowers, particularly when they are captured in an environment like this. Ruins and wildflowers—a perfect pair. Like others here, my favourite is the last one, not only because of the poppies, but the way the landscapes opens up step by step. Have a great trip to Turkey!

  8. I love spring’s purples and red accents! The fragile life of flowers is great contrast to the solid enduring stone

  9. Such beautiful images, Sue. Love the wildflowers amongst the ruins and the random rooster. 🙂

  10. Oh, but they look like paintings! I can’t make my mind up which one I like the best. The ruin and the terracotta roofs behind the purple thistles; the shutters and the exposed stonework with the cockerel (I know it is probably a hen, but I like the concept of a black cockerel) OR the painterly poppies splashed in the foreground of the disappearing, overgrown steps, the ruins, the arched doorways beckoning me to take a look, the rusty-red paint. No, sorry I cannot choose. I really hope you have these framed and on your wall somewhere. Sigh…

  11. What a lot of detail in these pics, I love the first one and the one with the chicken!

  12. Reminds me of places I saw (and photographed) while in France the last time. Can’t wait for my visit later in the year to get more. 🙂 Lovely shots, Sue.

  13. I’ll go with the poppies too, Sue. It’s true- so often when we take photos( correction- when I take photos! 🙂 )of a field of flowers it’s a soft blur rather than detail. You’ve just reminded me of some I haven’t posted that just might fit the bill. 🙂

  14. Love all the detail in these photos, so much to look at, but I love the last one with the poppies.

  15. love those poppies especially. Can’t wait to see your Turkey!!

    Great shots Sue! 😀

  17. Love the mood in the captures, Sue. They go right to my ❤

  18. You’ve just got to love Poppies! Super pictures Sue!

  19. Picture postcard perfect, especially the one with the chicken (rooster?). Beautiful photos Sue. I hope you had/having a wonderful time in Turkey 🙂 xx
