Six Word Saturday – A beautifully curated creative small exhibition

Time Out magazine suggested ‘The Museum of Innocence’ at Somerset House as a little exhibition of curios worth seeing…. Well, I caught it on its last day today, and very pleased I did.

It was so completely ‘up my street’! I thoroughly enjoyed the beautifully arranged little vignettes, just how I would like to arrange still lifes. A combination of photographs, drawings, objects.. I seem to recall Pamuk commenting in the short film on the making of Museum of Innocence, “memories are like objects hovering in space”…..

It got me thinking, and should be good for kick-starting some creative ideas.

  1. Oh, very nice! Wish I’d got to see that
Always too much to see and do in London…

  2. What a nice name for a museum, ‘The Museum of Innocence.’ The still life style worked well too; a summer picnic basket, on a warm sunny day. (Yes- it was warm and sunny in Norfolk!).
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. I love this idea, Pamuk’s quote and the image you show us. You’ve a lady started down this creative path with some of your still lifes when you were packing up. Thank you for a Saturday evening treat.

  4. What a lovely image, Sue. It certainly does conjure up memories of summers past. 🙂

  5. Sounds like a great exhibition. I love that book!

  6. How beautiful. I would enjoy doing that too. Congratulations.

  7. Yes! I can see how this would inspire you Sue,we have treats to follow 🙂

  8. Looking at April’s posts … you have gone very creative … and playful. Wonderful to see.

  9. All right. I obviously saw this, but it was before I read the book. I’d love to see it post-book!
