To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
Nice flame capture, Sue. Something I have never thought to try.
Best wishes, Pete.
We were in a restaurant in France for lunch, sat near this roaring fire- this was taken at 1/3second, handheld (the beauty of having a little mirrorless with good image stabilisation) The slow shutter speed enabled me to get a bit of blur in the flames to give the idea of movement.
Tricksey you, Sue. Two prompts in one post…and it work! 🙂
janet
Oh, Janet, I have long been tricksey! I used to kill two posts with one image regularly, it’s just been a while since I did it…. Glad you approve of this one 🙂
Sue, too often I’ve seen combined posts, sometimes with as many as six or seven prompts or themes. They usually either seem forced or have an entry for each theme, but all in the same post, which is just too much for one entry. A combined, single entry that works this well is pure pleasure.
Well, I’m glad to have made you smile!
And I meant to say, I see it as a challenge within a challenge for myself, to get it to work well
Lovely shot Sue – well done.
And I wish it was dancing here right now. It’s a chilly day
Where are you today? Home? I don’t know what it’s like outside, I’ve stayed in feeling sorry for myself and just had 2 hours of 40 winks….
Lovely flames for a grey day. One day I might just learn how to do more than point and shoot. This makes it look worth it.
Thanks, Meg! Glad you like, and perhaps we need a short session or two in Warsaw?!! Anyway, you do compose your shots, you aren’t a random pointer-and-shooter,…. and it’s only in the last year or two that I have upped my game, so to speak
These are lovely flame captures….intriguing silhouette in the foreground which adds to the atmosphere😊💕
Ah, that silhouette is the grate in front of the fire! Glad you like these!
Nicely done….grate minds think alike!!😆
😂🙄
😆
Nice one, Sue, and it ties in with 6 words beautifully. I was going to use one of my ‘dancing water’ shots with Lunapic, but I’ve done that a time or two and the yarn bombing won. 🙂
Thanks, Jo! Took me a bit of jumbling words to come up with the right phrase!
Nicely done, Sue!
Thanks, A-C… Taken in a restaurant whilst waiting for the order
I love a real fire, can’t wait to get my own at last 🙂 And your dancing flames are beautifully captured.
Ooh, you lucky person! Well, I expect to see some dancing flames and more from you, then!
Well, I guess I shall have to order a load of wood then 🙂
😀
I know how difficult that is, very well done 🙂
Thanks, Gilly – surprisingly easy to accomplish with my little Olympus!
I like watching flames, they are mesmerizing. Nice photo!
Thanks!
good capture!! I want a fireplace!! 😀
So do I, but it isn’t going to happen!
One of our greatest pleasures over the winter has been to go out into our backyard and enjoy a fire. It used to annoy our nasty neighbor and I think that brought even more joy to us! Since we moved, the first thing we did was to set up the fire pit. But it’s either been too warm or too windy the past couple of weeks and we really miss it. Maybe we can just sit and gaze at your post tonight! What a great job!
Thanks, Emilio! It was a spur of the moment thing, sitting chatting in a restaurant , and I thought I would try the handheld shot….
