Well, I have at last created a post in response to Jude’s challenge…she has been mildly rebuking me, and commented recently that she was still waiting for my entry….. I hope this one is up to snuff, Jude, best I can do at present (after all, cut flowers don’t count as garden).
I would have preferred to better position the skeletal petals, but I just couldn’t find a way. Nevertheless, I think there are strong shapes and not too few distractions. A very wide aperture helped, so here it is:

Skeletal remains
See more over at Jude’s here
So, so delicate. Love it!
Thanks, Chris!
This does look like my photo, Sue, only in monochrome instead of the natural winter sepia. Even if it’s not the angle you wanted, it’s lovely.

Thanks, Janet! They were such tiny dessicated things!
Very nice, Sue. The blurred background has worked well in this shot.
Best wishes, Pete.
Could have been better, with a slightly different POV
Maybe, but sometimes we have to take what we can get.
All too true!
Oh, but these are gorgeous Sue. Delicate lacy petals look perfect in black and white. Well worth the wait 😀
Thanks, Jude! Guess where I saw these?
In your secret garden?
If you mean the Walled Garden, yes! I was over that neck of the woods yesterday, and decided to pop in on my way
Good call 🙂
🙂
very beautiful photo, Sue
Thanks Mitza – thought you would like this one’
I think I like all your photos, hehe
😊
You jammy so and so finding these, gorgeous for monochrome!
Well, one way of looking at it!! Jammy, or observant….they were the only two specimens in the entire garden that I could see…..
I think that group hug worked! Jude is smiling again 🙂 And well she might- this is gorgeous, Sue.
I’m a good contributor to group hugs! And clearly you are too, Jo! And glad you like my monochrome effort….
Exquisite, in a word. I think the pov is perfect.
Glad you like it, Meg – but for me the POV will always need improving!
Beautiful!
Thanks, Janaline!
And the wait was well worth it…absolutely beautiful Sue!
Thank you very much, Sherri!
So dainty and delicate, perfect in monochrome.
Your description covers it nicely, Pauline!
Definitely art out of decomposition, This is lovely, Sue.
Thanks, Tish! I was just disappointed I couldn’t find more…..
Wow, absolutely beautiful photo!
Which one, Viola? Glad you like, which ever….
All of them, I meant to write photos 🙂
Thanks very much!
I have never seen lacy flowers like these. What a capture!
Hehe! Thanks…nothing like a bit of decay ….
Amazing!
Thank you, Inese!
Lovely shot! I like the framing and blurred background. 🙂
Thanks! I would have preferred to avoid those branches behind, but it was not to be….
It’s hard to avoid clutter sometimes. But…it gives us perspective and layout of the plant. There can be good times to have “clutter” and I think this is one!
Well, that’s very kind of you, Michelle!
Just what I thought:)
Hehe!
Love the delicy of the leaves, so beautiful Sue, look lovely in BNW
Thanks, Ritva!
