Six Word Saturday: Through the Looking Glass, or Gormenghast?

I love the illusory nature of this shot, and the small details you notice on closer inspection….

  1. The list of small details to notice is never-ending, Sue, a great take on the challenge! 🙂

  2. I looked at this for a long time, Sue, before deciding to agree with LG on Through the Looking Glass.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. This photo has amazing depth!

  4. I love the colors and composition of this photo. It would make a good mural.
It’s Dali-meets-Van Gogh with a twist of Ecsher. Very cool.

  5. Well I have no idea what Gormenghast is so I shall have to go for through the looking glass. Interesting…

  6. That is an image to study Sue to see all the details. As to your 6 word question, I had no idea what or who Gormenghast was. So, of course, I Googled it. Then looked at the trailer. Not my sort of entertainment but I now think your photo is definitely Gormenghast, kind of eerie and disturbing.

    • Sue

Glad you found it interesting, Pauline……As for Gormenghast, Wikipedia comments that some would say it is in the genre of the grotesque, with marked gothic and surrealist influences – I have to own up to never finishing even one of the books!

  7. Love the rhythms and the textures and little surprises. Wonderful capture, Sue.

  8. Brilliant – I can look at this and see new thing every time.

  9. An interesting shot Sue, reminds me of one of Andy’s over at Lenscaper.

  10. The dark ripples of the trees make it look like geometric water…
