Happy Place

I would say ‘happy’ is a state of being, rather than a physical place! But the place I am in can certainly help get me into a happy state….

For me, a happy place is one where I can immerse myself into photographic creativity…so it may be on my travels, or it may be at home creating a still life, for example.

Here are three recent examples:

  1. great pictures, the last one is my favorite, I like the contrast and structures

  2. The B+W is a classic indeed, but the floral still life has wonderful colours, Sue.
I can’t decide, so I like them all!
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. I can see why you’re happy with these, Sue. Beautiful! 🙂

  4. Your concentration shows in this eclectic set of images. I like your post processing in “What Remains.”

  5. I think you can have a happy place – somewhere that always lifts the spirits. Gardens and by the sea are mine; no matter how I am feeling being at either place re-energizes me. Love your bouquet with the gorgeous ‘black’ arum lily 🙂

Actually, that is true…some gardens do it for me, the little Walled Garden being one! And I did say that the place I’m in can help get me into a happy state! 😉

  6. I totally agree with it being a state of mind 🙂 Lovely images!

  7. Love your three different images Sue, I think you’ve chosen a good way to interpret this challenge actually, I chose a place – mu hillside – but it’s taking photos that works for me too in reality!

  8. Sue, all of these are wonderful. Your happy places are mine as well. Enjoy them this week.

  10. These really capture the variety of your photographic creativity, and they all have your signature.

  11. I agree wholeheartedly Sue – and I too love the last photo especially.

Thanks, Tina! I’m not often able to find interesting old places, but this one I snuck into briefly to take a couple of images! I didn’t want to get caught trespassing…

  12. Beautiful photos, Sue. I particularly love the third one. Simply precious!

  13. Love the detail in all these photos Sue, and yes, I agree, being absorbed in something you love doing makes it a happy place and a happy state of mind.

  14. Sonel

I totally agree with you Sue and I also go to my happy place when I see amazing and gorgeous photography like this. I love that Black Arum lily. What a beauty!

Boats and water always gives me a sense of peace and tranquility and of course playing around with my photos as well. The last one is a masterpiece! I love it! 😀

  15. Oh the last is fascinating Sue, it must have been a loved cupboard one upon a time, imagine all the things its stored!

  16. beautiful and the last is perfect!!

  18. I agree that happy is a state of being than merely on specific place 🙂 Beautiful images I love the first image especially!

  19. Your creative expression is such great fun; all three images really catch your imagination and take it for a walk.

  20. These photos are varied but all equally beautiful. I would agree that a happy place is more state of mind than physical location.

I always remember some trite comment years ago on a TV programme “Think happy, and you will be happy”….. I certainly don’t think it’s as easy a that, but I really do think I was born under a happy star!

  21. Aww! That’s the second bouquet I’ve had today 🙂 (Jude sent me one earlier) Now I’m happy too!
