Street / 20 – Blending in

Here’s a Street image taken, or rather snatched, on my travels in Palermo, Sicily. It was a sudden recognition that this would make a shot, and I wasn’t as careful as I should have been regarding composition… I was struck by the way the girl’s clothing chimed in with the colours of the columns and the door. A moment later, and it would have been lost.

Seen in Palermo

Seen in Palermo

  1. The splash of green from the palm fronds seems to lift the shot. I might have tried to lose it, but I think it actually helps. Palermo seems to have its fair share of ‘faded glory’ Sue.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Sue it looks beautiful to me. Can you tell me what you would have changed about the composition. It’s likely a silly question but I am keen to learn. 🙂

  3. You were there at the right place, right time! Interesting photo!

  4. I’m with Beetleypete about the green, and with you about the pleasure of capturing split-second synchronicity. It’s a lovely meeting of antiquity and modernity.

  5. Fabulous image, Sue. Love your title. 🙂

  6. Love this captured shot Sue.

  7. Did you manage to go inside?

  8. I love spotting a shot like this, well done!

  9. Well seen, and great for a “grab” shot.

  10. the strength of that door!!
