Street / 18

Time to start posting some more street photographs – it’s over a month since the last one.

Usually, my images are London streets, but I managed to grab a few when in Sicily recently. I had hoped to get more, but on a tour I wasn’t able to break away too often without risking losing sight of the group, plus I no longer have the stamina I used to!

Here’s the first, and one that I really wanted to capture as the essence of Sicilian youth:

  1. I like the ‘distressed’ buildings. Over here, they might call that ‘shabby chic’.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Fabulous street shot, Sue. I totally get the deal about being with a group on a tour and not being able to break away to get photos. I recently did that on one day in Hawaii on my last trip, and I swore no more; it can be very frustrating.

  3. I loved walking on those streets until my feet hurt and I enjoy the photos even more.

  4. The young and the old come together in your wonderful photo Sue. Imagine what those crumbling walls have seen go by over the years.

  5. Oh I remember riding on the back of one of those when I was there!! once upon a time! Love those streets Sue!!

  6. Very nice capture of the ancient and modern. 🙂

  7. A nice mix of young and old. Sometimes those tours move so fast, you don’t have time to safely break off from the group.

Don’t they just love their scooters !
Lots of dilapidation and beautiful decay for you and your camera there too , that’s what I love about the Mediterranean countries Sue 🙂

  9. Indeed the essence of Italian youth. A lovely image capturing the spirit of the country. And I do love the decay and beautiful structures.

  10. I even love the title! 🙂 🙂 Superb!

  11. Ah, this is the way I like it – lovely atmosphere!

  12. Oh my, would love to walk those streets! Love the old architecture!

  13. Yes, this it Italy. Great capture, Sue 🙂
