Inspired by the colours of sky and magnolia blooms, here are more abstracts, which could also (perhaps, because of the floaty colours) fit into ‘Afloat’ (this week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge. I wanted to create more swirly shapes, but with aperture at maximum (f22), I could only get down to 1/4 second or thereabouts…need to get a step-up ring for my 45mm lens to enable me to use my Lee Big Stopper – then I can have some fun!
Do you have a favourite? Do you even like these?
For more ‘Afloat’ see here.
Beautiful colors, and I love this idea. I’m drawn more to the second one; something about the horizontal lines that seem swirlier and more fluid that pleases my eye.
Yes, that’s my favourite, Angeline…I envisaged swirly, and that one succeeded best 😀
Fabulous colour Sue. I’m enjoying your experimentation.
Thanks, Adrian! I decided I needed some ‘me’ time today, and a break from life! Very therapeutic, fiddling about with a camera 😀
These are so cool – I love the colours and motion…
Thanks, Albatz…glad you like these! 😀
Not so much as the previous ones 🙂
😦
I’m going with the second one too Sue.
Saw some lovely magnolias today, in the area of the Norfolk Broads around Wroxham.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete!
I love this kind of abstract!
Glad you do! 😀
Just hopped over to your blog – I like your take on abstracts. We should set up a mutual appreciation society…..
Thank you! Yes we should!
😀
Actually like all these Sue!
Thanks, Stu!
Gorgeous colours, Sue. i also love the second one. 🙂
Thank you, Sylvia! The second one is doing well 😀

I particularly like the middle one!
Hey, ho…100% for the middle one so far! 😀
love them! wonderful experimentation!
Took quite a few shots to start seeing what worked!
The process is Latin to me, but I love the swirly abstracts! The second is my favourite too.
Gorgeous 🙂
Thanks, Andrew!
oh yes, love these! The second one is my very fave. Want to try this, but will wait until the trees blossom here to get some color.
I was pleased with the results after a bit of practice…..but I tried the 10 stop ND and that was way too much. I’ll try the 3 stop sometime.

I’m a big fan of panning, and I love the first one ! It’s a beautiful shot, so colourful and smooth and the same time.
Thank you…this is something I’ve not done much of before, but I was pleased with the dreamy effect 😀
It looks like a painting 🙂 I can see it hanging in a dining room !
I have thought about that, Gin….
