Over at her blog, Travel Words, Jude has challenged us to come up with some monochrome images of benches….so here are a few I have spotted over the last few years, in a few places. Click on any image to view the gallery.

I like the flat stone one Sue. Great textures in that shot.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete…I rather like that one!
Great variety Sue. I love the shadows in the last photo. Very creative.
Thanks, Sue!
I’d be very happy to sit on ANY of these. But maybe not today…
Just tried to respond to your comments on the individual images, but WP won’t let me….
Sometimes that depends on how you view the image I’ve found.
Oh ou have some marvelous benches Sue. Thanks for playing.
Glad you like the variety, Cee 🙂
Love them all, Sue. The first one looks like a nice shady spot to sit and contemplate the meaning of life. 🙂
Indeed it does….but funnily enough, this was taken on a dull and slightly drizzly day at Harlow Carr RHS garden! One day, I’ll get back there on a brighter day, I hope.
My pick is the one with the lion base! But they are all lovely.
I like the lion bench myself!
These shots are simple yet layered. 😀
If I may, here’s my entry:

Thanks, Izzy
i like them all – the last one with stripes in different directions.
These are lovely, Sue. Beautiful tones and textures!
Thank you, Susan…..glad you like them 😀
All these have translated beautifully into B & W Sue
Thank you, Pauline – glad you like them 🙂
I adore the different themes for each post. They just make normal things look gorgeous.
Thank you!
I used to think I was rather strange in my obsession with photographing benches, but have recently come across several others doing the same! Interesting variety here. Not sure I could choose a favourite but rather like the composition of the one with the lion bench.
Ah, we all have our obsessions! Glad you like these, and I agree re: the composition of the lion bench 🙂
You have a fantastic eye for details.
Well, thank you, I like to think I do!
