Over at her blog, ‘Where’s my Backpack? ‘, Ailsa has chosen Doorways as her Travel Theme this week….I am posting rather late for this one.
For years now, I have taken photographs of doors and windows. So here are a very few doors from my archive:
A garden doorway, looking out onto a bench (another perennial favourite)
A City door, complete with street art
A town door, looking a little worse for wear
And finally, a doorway in an old ruined mill
I love that farm-house door..
The red one? Don’t think it was a farm house, but who knows! Thanks for commenting 🙂
Yes that one.. 🙂
🙂
That old mill doorway appeals. I like to think of all the hard-working clog-wearers who passed through it.
(Or of Windy Miller from Camberwick Green, if it was a flour-mill.)
Best wishes, Pete
I like the old mill doorway, because I like ruins… This one was an unexpected plus at a little Gite we stayed at in the Languedoc…. A little stroll away on the owners land brought you to this mill. No idea what it was in its heyday….
Love the framing of photo 1 and 4. Number 2 makes me crack right up. Brilliant!
The little man running off with his stolen art is rather fun – the street artist Stik does produce some fun stuff.
I second that!
😀
I think you know where you’ll find me… 😀
Yep, on that bench!
The red door’s my favourite too! 🙂
It is nicely dilapidated!
I think I like the street art doorway simply because it’s unique. Otherwise, I really want to travel through the top one just to see that area up close!!
Thanks, Rusha! The top doorway leads into an interesting garden….
Great selection. I was going to say I liked the first one best then I saw that terrific farmhouse door – what a shot!
One of those lucky finds…..a nice bit of dilapidation, texture and colour!
A wonderful theme! I love the last one, a doorway to nature 😀 Not your typical one but still amazing!
Thanks, Alex….glad you like these!
Your doorways are full of character. I really enjoyed stopping by
Glad you liked them!
I love your stunning door photography Suej.. From the top well family home I think ..
the 3rd one I think a poor Family and last one for no home family …Lol
…..Kidding you did it again my friend 🙂
And the second? Burgled home…..
Love your eclectic collection of doors Sue. The mother and child artwork is truly unique!
Well, I thought it was mother and child but was told it was a thief stealing a painting!! 😳
Took a second look and it seems patently clear!!! 😉
😀
Oh yes, I’m a sucker for door and window shots and these are all fantastic!
Great! Thanks 🙂
Lovely doorways, all of them, but I particularly enjoyed the second one, made me smile. Have a great weekend Sue 🙂
Thanks, Sherri….have a good weekend yourself! 🙂
Thanks Sue 🙂
Such a variety of different doorways. I simply love the one with the street art – made into an optical illusion.
Thank you, Otto!
Wish number 1 was my door! How grand and beautiful Sue!
😀😀
Love these! doors are fascinating – I’m sure this could go on forever.
Oh, I have loads of doors!
Great images … I love the patio one … also have a bit a fetish for doors, there is something luring about them. The old cottage is fantastic too.
Thanks! There is indeed something alluring about certain doors….
Alluring was the word … couldn’t for my life get it. Thanks for the help. Now time for a little bit of pasta. Not homemade. We aren’t going to overdo things. *laughing – Sauce homemade.
D’you know, I used to have a pasta machine….and make my own pasta – fantastic, but a looOot of hard work! And I was much younger and fitter then!
