Beauty in Decay/ 44

Out of the vase of tulips I had recently, the most interesting in some ways were the variegated ones…they never fully opened out, and when they withered they reminded me of those collapsible paper chinese lanterns….

I have now run out of flowers for the moment, so there will be a bit of a gap before the next in this series……

  1. I love the visual ‘texture’ of these photos. They bring to mind the 19th Century books, where explorers would painstakingly paint detailed examples of unusual flora and fauna. Exquisite.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Lovely! And I have a book of those beautiful floral drawings, Pete is right, this is reminiscent of them.

  3. Superb as always!!! 🙂

    • Thanks, Cee! Glad you like it…I have now got to buy, beg or borrow some more flowers to work on! Meantime I’m trying an experiment with off-a era flash, and I’m having to dig out the D300 as I’ve yet to get flash for the Oly!

  4. I like this photo. The fact that we can see through the leaves really gives it some volume. Good job!
