Moving to some more recent images, after the last three from the past. last year I started taking images with street art in the frame, trying to make my own story from the juxtaposition of passers-by and the art. At some stage I may get around to showing some of my earlier ones, but for now I shall concentrate on some taken end of last year to present. Most of them will be from the Spitalfields area of London.
This was a very lucky moment, and I had to grab the shot fast, so much so that the passer-by isn’t totally sharp….but for me, so much of this falls into place. I converted it to monochrome because it seemed in keeping with the strange futuristic ‘things’ (which were themselves in grey/silver paint anyway).

Now that’s a wonder juxtaposing of elements Sue. I agree it looks like an etching. What a fabulous multi layered image you have created here. The light in the guy’s eyes and the eager look on his face leads to the idea that he is walking through his own imagination. I love this one. Dare I say – I think it’s one of your best. Please, please, please try and exhibit it somewhere. It’s really good. (You can always include a disclaimer that the street isn’t yours )

This is excellent, what a great idea! You’re timing seems to have been perfect as the expression on the guys face is something of surprise which seeing what’s happening around him is very fitting. Then I believe his bag says ART Materials, is that correct? That’s pretty ironic. Really great image all around. 😀

Many thanks for your comments, eLPy…. The timing is indeed critical for many street shots, and this was no exception! And yes, I liked his Art materials bag, and of course the rolled tube. His expression was the ‘icing on the cake’, ie the final great detail 😀

Thanks, Poppy….this was an absolute gift. I stood around this wall waiting for the right person to come along – there were various different people strolled into shot, I was just turning to leave when this chap came along! A bit of a grabbed shot, so sharpness isn’t the best, but the fact that so many elements came together makes the picture, I think 😀
It has a real 3d effect and without the poor fellow it would just be an image and not a story.
