At the risk of being told the person is too small to see, another solitary soul in Romania:

The sheer scale of the monastery and the diminutive figure of the priest on the steps really emphasises the solitude for me.

  1. A fascinating building Sue – that small figure also helps emphasise its scale.

  2. Indeed..and who or what is more important !)))

  3. and how did you fit it in your camer? HUGE!

  4. A really lovely building, Sue. The priest looks positively Lilliputian. 🙂

  5. Weeny! 🙂 Must be a BIG place!

  6. Great mood in the image, Sue. The contrast between the figure and the monastery gives it a new dimension.

  7. I agree Sue, I feel magnitude can isolate a smaller subject making it feel alone. It does give that impression. Great perspective 🙂

  8. Er… hang on a minute, now where are my glasses? Figure you say?
Seriously what a lovely building, I could spend a few hours photographing THAT! All those windows, the tower and the details! Bliss. And your solitary figure just lends itself to the scale. Nice one Sue 🙂

A quiet moment . It IS some size that monastery .. tiny windows mind … all incense and candles inside maybe …
    Nice capture Sue .

  10. One of the things I find so amazing about church architecture in general is the people-to-building scale.
