Travel Theme: Broken

Diving in at the eleventh hour with this one….Last Friday, Ailsa of Where’s my Backpack came up with Broken as the Travel Theme.

So here is my Broken image from a car graveyard in Turkey – a bit of rust, decay and abandonment!:

Abandoned and rusty

Abandoned and rusty

Head over to Ailsa’s blog for more.

  1. Great shot Sue – I find car scrapyards/graveyards endlessly fascinating. You never know what might turn up.

  2. I love pictures like this. It’s great.

  3. Suzanne

great shot – rusty old cars as so evocative – memories of journeys taken and of journeys not taken

  4. There’s no doubt that this photo fits the theme!

  5. a fantastic image!! Where has this old derelict been and who rode in her!!

  6. Rather attractively broken, Sue. I wonder if it still goes? 🙂

  7. has so much character.
i love rust and rusty cars.

  8. THere’s nothing quite like rusty machinery to make for a good photo opportunity – Nice one!

  9. Poor thing – left alone and abandoned. In a Disney movie someone would be adopting and turning him into a shiny, beloved antique!! Great shot.

  10. Certainly seen better days Sue, but so photogenic now in its rusty, decaying and broken condition.

  11. Oh my Sue… what a beauty!! Rusty old cars – just love ’em!
So full of wonderful colours and textures.

  12. Sonel

Awwww, it looks so sad and lonely. You’ve captured it perfectly Sue. Great shot! 😀

  13. Fantastic image, Sue, but it almost had me in tears. 😕

  14. Love it ,,,, you have found beauty in the roughness.

  15. That has been ignored for too long… l’m a sucker for the texture!

  16. You are a master at finding beauty in decay Sue 🙂 Great shot.

  17. Something about old and rusty stuff is so appealing.

  18. decaying things have such wonderful colors, beautiful shot, regards Mitza

  19. Rust in peace! 🙂 Great capture of decay.
    Have a lovely Sunday, Sue!
