Reading Suzanne’s blog nudged me towards Bastet’s prompt today, for a Shadorma. This came to me quite quickly….but has nothing to do with the prompt…. Am preparing this post on iPad, and having problems so can’t link at present…I’ll try again later. Updated with links now!
It’s the first of this type of poem I have written, so not as polished as some!
I’ve written it around one of my Beauty in Decay images as you can see below
Beautiful
once, now no longer
this rose dies
but slowly,
with dignity – entrancing
an image preserved.
So beautiful you have done an amazing job!
Thanks! Glad you like it, just came to me in a flash of inspiration (rare)…. 🙂
Lovely words for your image Sue.
Thanks Sue! Just came to me this morning, my elusive muse will go back to sleep now….
with dignity – entrancing…. perfect : )
Thank you! Much appreciated 🙂
Love this beautiful epitaph, Sue.
Thanks, Sylvia!
Great to see you extending your Beauty in Decay project into words. Your poem adds another layer of meaning.
Thanks, Suzanne! Not sure when I’ll do any more! 🙂
Life’s like that these days – blogging time can be hard to come by. 🙂
Well, as much to do with whether I’ll create the poetry!
I love your poem Sue, goes beautifully with your photograph 🙂
It was just one of those things…the more I try to write, it doesn’t work, but sometimes you are thinking about something else and the inspiration comes!
Yes, that’s how I write all my poetry. It’s either there or it isn’t. If I try to write something, forget it. That’s why I haven’t written any poems lately, it just hasn’t been there. Hopefully the inspiration will return again one of these days 😉
I’m sure it will, my muse is far from active these days but she shocks me occasionally!
It’s good when it happens 🙂
Isn’t it!
