The last moments of the defunct yellow rose that was the subject of BID 27. It’s seriously shrivelled now, and I love the texture.
Down but not quite out….

Almost gone
Down and out…

Finished!
The texture here puts me in mind of a chamois leather used for drying the car!
And as soft as a chamois leather?
?!
I meant did it not only look to have that texture but also have the same feel? Sometimes the two sensual aspects don’t match up (for example the petals may have felt dry and papery while looking soft and velvety) but my comment was ambiguous, not to mention probably superfluous! Anyway, another sensitive study.
Oh, I know…I would say the two sensory aspects were at odds here! Thanks for your comment 🙂
Nice job. I feel like I could reach out and touch it.
Thanks, Allan…means I’ve done a good job!
This is absolutely exquisite, Sue.
Thank you, Wildsherkin, much appreciated 🙂
What a lovely capture of decay….you caught its fragile beauty perfectly
Totally agree that I feel as though my fingers could touch it. Amazing capture of the texture Sue.
Many thanks, Sue . I’m pleased with the w at the texture has come out in these, as the sidelight was a bit weak….
I know just what you mean about a chamois leather Sue 🙂
Excellent! 🙂
again you have created an image that makes us stop and take a second look – beautiful work Sue.
Well, at least my photographic muse still kicks in! 🙂
That it does – and brilliantly. 🙂
Fabulous capture of textures Sue!
Thanks…this rose certainly decayed very elegantly!
Yes, it does! Poor old soul. 🙂 Gone to rose heaven, Sue.
🙂
Ha! Yes! Like a chamois as it drys!
Indeed! Glad you see it 🙂
The chamois, yes I too can see that although before I read that I thought of elephant skin! It does seem you could touch this photo and yet I’m afraid the moment I do a petal will fall. What I like about this image is that this rose, especially in the first, looks like a character. 😀
