Beauty in Decay/25

Having thought there were no subjects in the garden of late, I noticed the Japanese anemones might be good….. I love the fluffy, almost downy look to the outside of the petals, very evident in the image below.

Here’s one just ‘on the turn’, as it were:

Japanese anemone that has seen better days

Japanese anemone that has seen better days

  1. Suzanne

That’s lovely – it looks like it is made from felt

  2. Looks like a velvet skirt to me Sue !

  3. Lovely 😀 Glad you could find another subject to shoot…As i said before i really enjoy this series!

  4. Rich texture. My anemones are still budding …

  5. Suzanne was right – it does look like it is made of felt. Love this on the black.

  6. Love how it is bowing its velvety head, as if in prayer, before fading “to sleep”!

  7. This is really lovely. rest job.

  8. I feel like I’m pedalling backwards through treacle this week, Sue, but I’m determined to catch up! Here I am 🙂 And I love it too.

  9. Sonel

Such a beautiful little flower Sue. Great texture. 😀

  10. Great capture, am glad to have discovered your work….

  11. Nice. The petal to the left (or is it a sepal?) reminds me of the top of a furry animals head. Maybe a goat? I really enjoy that and the spotlight appeal of the lighting. 😀
