Weekly Photo Challenge: Relic

The Weekly Photo Challenge this week is Relic (see more at the link).  I could have gone for well known and lesser known ruins from the past, but decided I would post a different kind of relic,  abandoned, from a much more recent past.

Seen in a car graveyard, South West Turkey:

Sightless eyes

Sightless eyes

Don’t ask me what type of car it is, I’m no use when it comes to recognising American cars!

  1. Love this photo. I did the same thing except I used pictures of a worn out tractor. I like your phrase: “a relic from the recent past.”

  2. I know! It’s a red banger 🙂

  3. Perfect for the theme Sue.

    • Aah, OK…. You see, I don’t know my Chevys from Buicks unless there’s a badge… Bet they don’t look a bit alike, says she, red faced…..

  4. That’s a nice car too bad it’s in such condition, maybe someone could restore it 🙂

  5. Relic or wreck? Must admit I didn’t expect this from you 🙂

Great shot, Sue! Yes, it’s a Chevy. From the early ’60’s, I think. Too bad it’s in such poor condition.

  7. Just needs a new pair of headlights, Sue, and it’ll be good to go! 🙂

    Looks like it’s got a flat . 😀

  9. love this old Chevy in Turkey. What a ride that must have been.

  10. Makes me think Stephen King…..(But Christine was a red Plymouth Fury)…Close enough to make me nervous.
    🙂

  11. Terrific shot Sue. Must have been a head turner in its prime 🙂

  12. Oh the miles this ol Chevy has traveled, the sights it’s seen, the butts it has cradled. Great shot. I love those poor empty eye sockets that used to be headlights.
