The Weekly Photo Challenge this week is Relic (see more at the link). I could have gone for well known and lesser known ruins from the past, but decided I would post a different kind of relic, abandoned, from a much more recent past.
Seen in a car graveyard, South West Turkey:

Sightless eyes
Don’t ask me what type of car it is, I’m no use when it comes to recognising American cars!
Love this photo. I did the same thing except I used pictures of a worn out tractor. I like your phrase: “a relic from the recent past.”
Thanks, Rusha- I thought my phrase very apt!
I know! It’s a red banger 🙂
Bang to rights!! 😀
Perfect for the theme Sue.
Thanks, Sue. I haven’t posted anything for days, and thought I’d like to get in before the deadline!
Like me this week a last minute entry 🙂
🙂
good old chevy.
Aah, OK…. You see, I don’t know my Chevys from Buicks unless there’s a badge… Bet they don’t look a bit alike, says she, red faced…..
That’s a nice car too bad it’s in such condition, maybe someone could restore it 🙂
Bit far gone, I would say…
Relic or wreck? Must admit I didn’t expect this from you 🙂
You didn’t??
Nope – thought you’d post a ruined castle 🙂
I like to surprise…. 😉
Great shot, Sue! Yes, it’s a Chevy. From the early ’60’s, I think. Too bad it’s in such poor condition.
Thanks, Emilio! 🙂
Just needs a new pair of headlights, Sue, and it’ll be good to go! 🙂
Looks like it’s got a flat . 😀
And no engine…. 🙂
aah really going nowhere then 😀
Exactly!
love this old Chevy in Turkey. What a ride that must have been.
Must have been, in it’s heyday!
Makes me think Stephen King…..(But Christine was a red Plymouth Fury)…Close enough to make me nervous.
🙂
Haha….I thought the low angle close shot gave it a bit of creep factor! 🙂
🙂
But she is rather lovely…..
….beauty in decay
A bit like myself…..:-)
(That sounds so much nicer than relic)…
Indeed…. 😀
Terrific shot Sue. Must have been a head turner in its prime 🙂
Thanks…I thought close and low was the way to go with this one 🙂
Oh the miles this ol Chevy has traveled, the sights it’s seen, the butts it has cradled. Great shot. I love those poor empty eye sockets that used to be headlights.
Glad you like it! Love your comment!
