This morning the sun was streaming through the windows, so I rushed to find the camera as I had some flowers I had taken from a Hosta in the garden which was just getting to the right stage of withered, crinkled. Here goes for a fairly high key rendition against a white background. Tomorrow it will be against a black backdrop….

Withered Hosta flowers
Picture perfect.
Thanks Allan! I’m having a lot of fun doing these, and shall miss having the morning sun when the weather changes.
Stunning.
Thanks, Cee. I saw this flowed a couple of days ago and had to wait for the sun which fortunately was nice and bright this morning. This went into Aprture, exposure correct from camera so all I needed to do was tweak the curves slightly. I then exported it into Nik’s Viveza and gave it a tiny bit of structure. Then into Nik Color Efex to use one of the High Key filters…. Job done. As I’ve done a few of these now, it has got easier to recognise what works 🙂
Very simplistic and beautiful.
Thanks, Lynne, that’s just what I was trying to achieve! 🙂
You succeeded.
Perfect! Looks like a studio work…It’s amazing what natural light can do! 🙂
Thanks! I like the idea of it looking like a studio work! 🙂
Simply gorgeous Sue . Almost has a botanical drawing quality about it .
Thanks, Poppy! I have thought that about one or two that I have created in this series… 🙂

Absolutely stunning! It’s like a delicate watercolour painting.
Thanks Patsy! glad you like 🙂
I’d prefer this one of the two hostas…I think the white background shows it off better 🙂
Ah, it’s interesting to see preferences… Each of these had their supporters!
