Another of my Greek images from the 1980s. This time from a walk down the length of the Samaria gorge on Crete… I leapt over stepping stones, camera in hand, in order not to miss this shot….those were the days! My balance is now shot to bits, as is my stamina, so I’m glad I did this when I could!

Crossing the gorge
I remember it being pretty hot in the Samaria Gorge! And I think it was only May 🙂 Nice capture!
And we were there in July….. But I was young, fit and healthy then!
There is a real sense of nostalgia in this shot – I wonder if such a world still exists somewhere in the mountains of Greece.
I wonder….
Rock hopping not my favourite thing either .. it hurts nowadays when you fall 😉
I still hope to get here one day .. and take that walk along the gorge .
Nice memory picture Sue !
Rock hopping was fun back then…oh, to be young and fit! But hey, it was a great experience and I’m glad I did it when I did. And, yes, it does hurt when I fall now….my biggest worry is fractures as I get older!
Oh, I love this shot! I think it’s also really special to see work when you didn’t know how the photograph would turn out. 🙂 Digital cameras have changed quite a lot of this anticipation, I bet.

Not half! 🙂
Greece, one of the friendliest countries I ever been too … great capture. I can see that you like to be climbing high .. and be up in the mountains.
I used to like walking and clambering about a lot…can’t do that sort of thing now. But hey, it was good while it lasted 🙂
