Interesting theme… I wanted to find a quote that would lead me to something a bit less obvious than fragility of beauty. I found this one:
“The older you get, the more fragile you understand life to be. I think that’s good motivation for getting out of bed joyfully each day.”
Julia Roberts
This image was taken in Madrid some years ago, and this man heard my shutter go as I was trying to take the photo of him and his dog going past, I probably said “missed it” or something to my friend, and he wheeled around and gave me a beaming smile, so I could take the shot!!
Hop over to Ese’s blog to see more images on this theme.
Nice capture Sue – not sure what happens when the dog suddenly takes a fancy to something in the opposite direction 🙂
He seemed very placid, but who knows!
Sweet interpretation Sue! He looks like the kind that lives life to the fullest 🙂
He rather does! My kind of individual!
Very nice of him. It’s a wonderful capture.
Many thanks!
…and this man fits perfectly with that quote meaning. Nice capture and tweak. Have a good day!
Many thanks, glad you liked it!
As it turned out probably a much better photo but your editing is spot on as well.
Many thanks, Dawn! I felt I needed to get the background ‘fussiness’ out of the way by converting to monochrome. That way you concentrate on the main subject….
Perfect.
🙂
What a great smile and I love what you did to the photo Sue!
Thanks very much…one of those lightbulb moments to get the message I wanted from the shot!
NICE work!
Thank you! I can’t deny that I was pleased with this image… 🙂
See- the world’s just full of lovely folks, isn’t it? Nice capture 🙂
Certainly is!
lovely man lovely dog lovely photo
Ticks all the boxes, then? Thanks Mrs C
Your choice to colorize was perfect with the quote. And what a sweet pair. Don’t they look like beings you’d like to have lunch with? Lovely to meet you!
Thanks, Meghan! Much appreciated…and I agree, beings to have lunch with. Good to meet you too, I’m off for a wander around your blog. Here’s to more conversations in future! 🙂
I like the way the man and the dog are in colour and everything else is b&W. Very skillfully done.
Thanks, Suzanne…I felt I needed the background out of the way, so the viewer focuses on the man and his dog 🙂
Sue, fantastic image … happy one too and .. I love that you only kept the color on the man hand his dog.
It was great because I missed my first attempt, the man heard me comment to one of my friends that I had missed the shot, and he wheeled round and came towards me with a big smile on his face, so I got the shot!!
I love when photos are layered, I done a couple, but I can never remember how to do it, have to watch youtube every time. That was a very nice man … that wanted to give you a great shot. I hope I will meet one too. *smile
Oh, I don’t do stuff like that anymore, too fiddly!
Agree, but it feels good when it’s done and the result is looking good.
Well, true!
