Weekly Photo Challenge: Juxtaposition & Lingering Look at Windows

A juxtaposition (Weekly Photo Challenge) of some old and new windows (Lingering Look at Windows) means I can kill two challenges with one set of images….

This week I went for a wander around Spitalfields market, starting off at Liverpool Street station. The journey on the tube was most fascinating…I used the Waterloo and City Line for the first time in 30 years. Gone was the worn-out but characterful old rolling stock and the men in pinstripes and bowler hats…in was the modern world. Sleek shiny characterless trains and a whole mix of passengers.

On my little trip, I came across quite a few examples of juxtaposition of old and new, in window form:

Hope you like thes, and you can hop over to WordPress and Dawn’s blog to see what others have posted..

  2. I love it round there now. When I worked in the City it was ghastly as didn’t suit my ‘sense of style’ at all.

  3. A nice set Sue. I don’t know Spitalfields very well but my youngest occasionally has a Sunday stall up there – http://www.hekkelandginger.com/ – forgive the advertising 🙂

  5. Really cool. These challenges really make one think. Fortunately, I have enough photographs that I can usually come up with something, but not always. Sometimes, if I want to enter a challenge, I have to get up off my duff, grab the camera, go outside, and if there’s nothing inspiring at the moment, I hop into my car and just go driving. No cities like what you photographed nearer than an hour drive, but I prefer the “boonies” anyway, as you can tell, were you to go through my f-stop fantasy blog, which I am shamelessly promoting on your time. 🙂

  8. Looks great! Smart combo. I have never been there I think? Maybe next time!

  9. Clever combo – and both challenges well met! Good work 🙂

  13. I’d like to see more photos from the day, Sue. I’ve never been to Spitalfields and will be including it whenever I next get to London (goodness knows when…) The East End/City is a fascinating place now. 🙂

  14. Great combination all the way around!

Over to you...
