This week, Ese’s Weekly Shoot and Quote Challenge is asking us to show Intangible.
Well, I found a number of quotes, but how to fit an image to the quote? I wanted to show intangible, but by dint of an image and some post-processing jigging, have only partly succeeded (got the ‘formless’ bit!)…Anyway, time is of the essence this week, so this is how it will stay:
“There are intangible realities which float near us, formless and without words; realities which no one has thought out, and which are excluded for lack of interpreters.”
Natalie Clifford Barney
Might have done for mysterious or atmospheric rather than intangible? Let me know….
Beautiful post! I’m in awe with the photo of Dawn mist!
Oh, many thanks, much appreciated! This was scanned from a slide, and then I had a play around…..I think I overdid the vignette, though! Anyway, glad you liked it 🙂
What a lovely photo. I thought about using that quote too – it’s a beauty isn’t it. I like the way you have interpreted it.
Thank you, Suzanne I really wasn’t at all sure it worked! And my treatment of the image was a bit ham-fisted, but I ran out of time… 🙂
I think you did a mighty fine job.
Wow, thanks, another thumbs up! I wonder what Ese will say… 🙂
Wonderful photo and quote.
Thanks! I’m really pleased with the responses I’m getting for this 🙂
What a shot!
Ooh, thanks Mrs C… we were on holiday in the South West of France in a very nice hotel We had the room with a view – at 6.30 am, or some ungodly hour, this was the sight from the bedroom window. I leaped out of bed and grabbed a few shots (only 3, it was film in those days!).
something special about film.
Indeed! And I did slap a vignette effect on this image once digitalised… it could have done with a bit more subtlety, I think. But hey, I’ve had some great comments!
beautiful quote with an awesome photo!
Thanks, much appreciated! 🙂
I don’t really care if it’s intangible or not- it’s a beautiful photo. (and a very hard subject!) 🙂
Thanks Jo – I’ve been really pleased with the responses to this image… 🙂
Mysterious is the right description 🙂 Beautifully done!!!
Thanks! Glad you like it! 🙂
Nice, misty landscape.
Thanks!
Lovely photo. I do like your interpretation but I think it could have worked for mysterious or atmospheric as well. Isn’t it fun how photography can be flexible that way?
Thanks! Yes, I love the flexibility, and of course it’s up to how we interpret things too… I like to think I’m keeping the old grey cells ticking over! 🙂
🙂
Works for me Sue 🙂 Just beautiful! Brilliant quote too.
Wow, great! Glad you like it… 🙂
