Over at her blog, “Where’s my Backpack?”, Ailsa has chosen Short as the Travel Theme for this week…
I wanted to think beyond short animals etc etc, but couldn’t resist posting an image of my friend’s dog running through wild flowers and long grass, emphasising his shortness.. see for yourself:

Short legs!
I then thought of shadows, and searched for an image to demonstrate that when the sun is high in the sky around midday, the shadows are very short:

Short shadows
I didn’t envy this cyclist, in the heat of the Cuban sun around noon.
a short legged dog is a thing to behold. Like the shadow idea – high noon.
High noon indeed! Don’t take pictures in the middle of the day if you want decent shadows… 🙂 (says she in tutorish mode)
Loved the dog in the grass LOL!
🙂
a difficult challenge this week – I like your thinking on the short shadows! Damn missed that!
Well, I like to think around the subject! Trouble was, I couldn’t find a good image but at least the one I used illustrated the point…. 🙂
Good one, love that first photo!
🙂
A cute dog and a bronzed youth! The stuff of dreams, Sue 🙂
I like your thinking, Jo! 🙂
Good idea with the shadow!
Thanks! I like to think I’m using the brain from time to time! 🙂
Great idea of the shadows 🙂 Love the short legs 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
nice pictures of shadows. love the dog through the wild flowers!
🙂
The first shot of the dog is beautiful, The second makes even me, in sweltering Chennai, feel hot!!
Thanks Madhu… I just couldn’t resist the shot of the dog, just one of those lucky things that happens in front of you! As for the other one, a shot taken some years ago with a very basic point and shoot, but it illustrated the point about midday shadows!
Hi Sue, Not sure if you want to have you gravatar linked with your blog URL. It’s convenient for readers to find you blog 🙂
Aha – I thought it was! I’ll have to check my settings, thanks for telling me…..
Hello again Amy- is my Gravatar link working now?
I went to my post and clicked your gravatar, it did not take me to your blog… I know there is a short instruction in the WP support.
Think I might have sussed this now… But then again, maybe not! Thanks for your input!
