Weekly Photo Challenge: The Hue of You

This week, the Weekly Photo Challenge, as set by Cheri Lucas Rowlands at WordPress is ‘the Hue of You’. She says ‘For this challenge, we want to keep it simple: share a photograph with a prominent color (or assortment of colors) that reveals more about you. It could be a symbolic, meaningful shade; a color that expresses how you currently feel; or a combination of colors that excites you and tells a visual story.’

I found this tricky on two counts. Firstly because I change my hue depending on the season, my mood, and any number of variables. Secondly, because as it’s no longer summer, I tend to go for deeper, bolder, so I wanted black and red. But where have I got these colours in a vibrant, eye catching photograph?? I decided to go floral. But that introduced green. Does it matter? Well, no. Although I never wear green, I find it very calming, and have pale green carpet throughout the house, and the walls of my study are a kind of Eau de Nil-ish pale green colour.

So here goes for some black and red..

  1. I never used to wear green but now I do. #liberating?

  2. Stunning shot of the tulips! Love those hues too, although I would only wear that particular shade of red as an accent 🙂

    • Actually, I wear a lot of black, the red is less frequent, and usually less prominent…. Glad you liked the tulips, I was given red and white tulips, very striking, so this shot is a crop of the original!!

  3. Those are beautiful flowers, such vibrant reds, they make me feel motivated

  4. Beautiful pictures of red and black!
