Weekly Travel Theme – Hidden

Over at Where’s my Backpack, Ailsa has chosen Hidden as our theme this week.

From my travel archive, I have chosen a fort from WWI hidden in the forests of Verdun for my image. Unlike the nearby forts of Vaux and Douaumont, the ruin of Souville is not open to the public and I happened on it largely by accident. It is quite unstable with roof falls in numerous places, deep holes… Therefore, the interior of the fort is now largely hidden due to the unsafe nature of the ruin. I peeked inside, but did not venture far!
