Lingering Look at Windows – forlorn

Dawn is on week 34 of Lingering Look at Windows ….I haven’t been out and about much with my camera lately, and missed last week’s posting. So for this week’s post, I have decided on just one image, which is of decayed and abandoned windows, which fits my love of old and abandoned structures.

Hopefully, next time I won’t just rely on the archive!

The image has been edited with Snapseed to  enhance the emotive effect…rather sad and abandoned, don’t you think? Somehow, I don’t think this is a potential restoration.

Windows in decay2

Windows in decay2

  1. I have always attracted to the abandoned buildings!

  2. You did a nice job with this, I like it.

  3. Beautiful! What is it about decay and desolation that attracts so many of us I wonder?

    • Well, I think we can see a certain type of beauty in decay, don’t you? Then there’s some of us who would perhaps imagine back to what a place would have been, perhaps it’s an appeal to the emotions… And in some instances, I guess it’s new colours that come with decay.. I could write an essay, but I’ll spare you that, Madhu! Thanks for liking my shot 🙂

  4. I think that might be a rather BIG job (restoration wise) but then I’m patently not a builder/decorator/demolition expert.

  5. I love the green through the windows. That contrast gives them new life.

Over to you...
