Weekly Travel Theme: Distance

I have spent some time trying to decide what to post for Ailsa’s Travel Theme this week, which is Distance…and as a result I’m just sneaking in before we roll over to next week’s theme.

In the end I have settled for four images from my travels, and in decreasing order of distance they are a harvest moon from a gap in the clouds, the Pyrenees seen from just below a Cathar castle, the houses of Cayo Granma seen from the position of a cannon at El Morro castle in Cuba, and a lone figure in the distance sitting on Sidmouth beach, gazing into…. the distance.

  1. You’re meeting yourself going backwards, Sue 🙂 I don’t even know what this week’s Daily Post theme is yet, though I know it involves Lynn at Blue Brightly. She’s amazing!
I remember doing “distance” for Jakesprinter, long ago it seems. I never get to Ailsa’s except sometimes to admire. Going back to this post, I absolutely love the El Morro shot, and the wee figure on the beach is great too. 🙂

    • Thanks, Jo! The El Morro was taken with a small compact digital, and I often wish I had taken my S LR on that trip… Meeting myself going backwards? I’m always doing that! 🙂

  2. love the figure gazing into the distance – great entry!

    • Many thanks, Jude! I like that one a lot myself… 🙂 and I like the fact that despite the weather, there he was enjoying the beach (well, at least I hope so)

  3. The last one seems particularly apt 🙂
