Cee’s Fun Photo Challenge : The Season of Spring

Well, Spring has certainly come late to the UK this year, but I’m pleased to notice things springing (ho ho) up in the garden at long last…

So, here for Cee’s Fun Photo Challenge this week, are my Spring images. I am not going to make any more forays outside now that it’s raining…happily, I had already taken a series of three images of the apple blossom in varying stages of unfurling (very late this year), and raindrops on the magnolia petals. Here are also some miniature irises from my mother’s garden (in a vase here, image taken with an ipad and manipulated), and some tulips.

  1. I forgot to get some leaves starting to bloom out. Beautiful entry for spring.

    • Many thanks, Cee. I had been collecting a few Spring images, and then your challenge came up, right on cue!! The apple blossom really took my eye this year, I think because it was so slow to come out.

  2. Spring has been late and certainly come in spurts, but the gardens I have seen and visited do seem to be healthier than ever. Certainly that is what your photos show as well.

These are beautiful, Sue. The iris are stunning. I thought our spring was late in coming but I think you are even further behind. Weather sure has been strange.

    • I’ll own up to the irises being taken earlier…but they seemed at the time to herald Spring, which then sulked and didn’t really kick off until more recently! But it has been a weird old Spring this year.
