Weekly Photo Challenge: Forward

Had to think about this week’s challenge. Plenty of possibilities, but did I have an appropriate photograph?

In the end, I plumped for this one, of a place in Italy called Civita di Bagnoregio…It says forward to me for two reasons – one is the bridge leading you forward to the hamlet itself. The other is the back-story. Civita was built on tufa rock, which over the years has steadily eroded. in addition, earthquakes have also taken their toll. However, it’s unique history and architecture (medieval) together with the stunning location have seen Civita di Bagnoregio become a tourist attraction. There have been efforts made to try to preserve this historic location, so in that sense, I think this speaks ‘forward’.

Incidentally, we just happened to arrive when the mist was rolling away……must be truly atmospheric on a cold, bright morning with mist receding.

  1. You take stunning photos, Sue, and you’re clearly adept with photo apps.

Over to you...
