I have written this in haste, rather than re-blog my previous attempt at the Englyn, which is the subject of tonight’s form over at d’Verse. Should have given myself more time, but life throws it’s spanners into the works…
Autumn thoughts (Englyn unodl union)
Autumn is my very best time of year
not austere, often blessed
with good wine, cider fresh pressed
and colours that can arrest.

Yes, I like your unodl union a lot, but it worries me because I tackled 2 forms with 3 stanzas each. Perhaps I was hanging out at Redherringville today. Nice prompt challenge though.
Redherringville, I like it! Glad you liked the prompt…
ha great ode to the season…love me some cider..and all the color…i like that internal rhyme as well, gives it an extra beat which is nice…great job on the main rhyme as well…
Thanks Brian, I think I’ve probably ‘done’ Autumn now!
I’m really enjoying this form and it’s many variations. I think I like this particular one the best. You certainly capture sound, crispness, the season and the variances here. Thanks loads for the article. It seems to be well appreciated.
Many thanks, Gay, I’m enjoying reading the poems, some great responses to the prompt. Thanks for inviting me to post Form for All!
wonderful colors and cider… who wouldn’t love this.
thanks for the brilliant prompt, definitely something else…
Thank you, Susan, for introducing such interesting short forms…I’d like to explore these more when I have the time. A lovely homage to fall too…
Nicely done!
Aww – so well done, a truly rich Autumn described beautifully.
Beautiful mental picture I got from this. Thanks 🙂
A lot of power and imagery pressed into this tight space. 😉
I love the colors of autumn, too.
