Colour, pattern and texture

Recently returned from a break in Lanzarote, where I found much to photograph. Everything from the green doors set in sparkling white buildings, to the play of light across the volcanic landscape. I came back with much more vibrant images than I had been expecting.

First up – colour.

Green was a colour of many shades….
the characteristic windows and doors

the algae loaded water at El Golfo

the shades of green on the landscape, behind the reddish foreground.

Blue was a colour in evidence in some of the coastal villages…

But best of all was the multitude of colours seen in Timanfaya, if the light was in a particular direction, as seen here…

Well, that’s it for today…pattern is the theme for tomorrow!

  1. Lovely images. I love Lanzarote because iut’s such a weird landscape.

  2. What stunning photographs ~ love Lanzarote and all things Cesar Manrique ~ welcome home 🙂
